Just a few notes for the authors on this site. Some things to take into consideration...
Please feel free to post anything here that you think will be interesting or benificial to your fellow SMs and AFM family. That's what this site is for. Feel free to share stories, pictures, prayer requests, needs, inspirational/devotional thoughts, or just how you're feeling. Please do take a few things into consideration as you do this, however:
1) This is a
public forum, meaning that readership is not restricted to the authors of the site. This has a few implications. For one, please
be careful when sharing personal information, for example, in prayer requests or stories that could be embarrassing, and when sharing information that is not already common knowledge. You may consider using pseudonyms to protect people's identity. If several of you think it would be helpful to set up a private forum, let me know. We can do that, but this forum is currently a public form.
2) Posts are not moderated, so be considerate when posting information. Try to make sure posts are attractive and edit them so they do not contain large numbers of typographical errors. Double-space paragraphs so that the post doesn't run together. Try to include pictures with your posts when possible. Place the first paragraph or two of an article in the
Entry Body and the remainder of the article in the
Extended Body of the entry. Please feel free to comment on other people's posts. We like feedback! Basically, you are responsible for your own posts and for maintaining any comments/feedback. Hopefully we shouldn't have a problem with spam or inappropriate language, but should there be a problem (i.e. comments from the public) it is our responsibility to keep the site clean.
3) Please feel free to post as many pictures as you like. Obviously don't post inappropriate pictures or blogs (I don't expect there to be a problem with this). Make sure you own the copyright to any pictures you post, and be careful when you post pictures of other people (make sure they give you permission to post their picture first). If there is any question about a particular image or article, they best thing to do is to change it or remove it from the site. I will reserve the right to edit or remove any material that is deemed inappropriate.
4) As with any web site, be careful when you post your own or other people's e-mail addresses. Don't type the full e-mail address into the page. If you must share an e-mail address, a good idea is to spell out the e-mail, like this:
johndoe at example dot com
This may sound technical, but it does help keep down on the amount of spam that ends up in our inboxes!
Just the general blah, blah, blah... I know, you didn't need to hear all that. If I failed to mention something important, or if any of you disagree with anything, let me know in the comments. I don't claim to be the final authority, or anything...
Please, post to your heart's content!
