Hey guys! I have been so enjoying reading all your updates! Its exciting for me to see how God is challenging you, and all the things youre learning. I miss the mission field overseas very much, so hearing your stories has been a big help to me. Thank you! When tomorrow comes...

Yeah, so tomorrow is the day. And, like Kiana, I am pretty nervous. I never get nervous. I don't get it. But I am. I KNOW I want to go, but part of me doesn't feel it. I think people have just been really nice to me lately so I feel a little more attached, but I do want to go. I have wanted to leave for weeks now. I do believe it is just the actual act of saying good bye that I hate. Yeah, I really just can't say good bye. Tomorrow may be one of the hardest days of my life. Once I am on the plane and in Manila and all that fun stuff, I should be okay, but that first few hours, they're going to be tough. So yeah, to the mountains. I know I will love it. I'll just leave it at that.

Ready for Africa!?!

While many of you are already in the mission field, the Namibia team is surviving another fall season back here in the states. Sometimes it's hard to believe we're actually going as student missionaries--it seems like life is so "normal." For me, that is, aside from frequent weekend appointments to do fundraising, and trying to "wrap things up" in the states so I can leave and prepare for what I'll be doing in Africa.

I just called the Dept. of Def. today to check on the status of my account, and found out that the account has been recalled from the collection agency!!! Yay!! {cheer} {dance} God takes care of ALL our needs! Thank you all for all your prayers! Love, Jeremy

fears, trials, and endurance

This kinda goes along with what Lisa was talking about, about fears we have. But it's focussed differently so I'm posting it here instead of in reply to hers. The fears and concerns I've recently begun experiencing have to do with the people I'm leaving behind.

The majority of you guys are packing up and shipping out within a matter of weeks! ((teardrop)) Almost immediately after training, so much information, so little time... so little space in our little brains to remember it all! :-s It's like when your mom still dressed you as a little child; making sure all the buttons were aligned, tying your shoelaces, adjusting your hat, buttoning up your coat, patting you on the back and shoving you out the door. (ok, at least some of us can relate...) All the while the thoughts trying to be reconciled in our mind: half about the excitement of the opportunity for a new experience, and half dirt scared of the unknown.

Hey everyone! For those of you whom I haven't run into on MSN since the end of training, how's "normal" life treating you? I can't tell you how much I miss all of you, and your wonderful company. I have nothing but the warmest memories of our time together during training, and hold each of you in very regard. You each hold a special place in my heart. It's my hope and prayer that the same can be said from each of our perspectives. When trials come and the world feels cold and lonely, I encourage you to let these memories that the Lord has given us warm you and comfort you. Let them be an ever present reminder to you of your loving Father in heaven, who has not neglected to give you companions who love and cherish you with deepest affections.
