Hello from Thailand!!! We have had alot of activity going on around here lately! We have had two floods in two weeks!! Not more than a couple days after I got here, we were notified that it was going to flood. So we put everthing up high, packed up our stuff we needed, and went to a hotel for a few days.

The flood water didn't get as high as the flood back in August, but it still left a lot of cleanup work. My house ended up with about 6 inches of water in it!. Then, about 5 days later, we heard that it was going to flood again!! great.... just what we needed.... so repeated the process, but this time we decided we'd fight the flood. So spent some money and a lot of time fortifying the Wilson's house, my house, and the resource center. First we put clay down in a strip to act as a seal, then put plastic over that, then stacked sand bags on the plastic and wrapped it around the sand bags. The flood waters were supposed to get higher than in August, and the August flood had been the record flood for the last 40 years! Got eveything well fortified, and headed to a hotel to wait it all out. A couple days later, I went in with Mr. Wilson, and Mrs. Wilson's nephew, Mnot, to see how high the water was on our street. It was high! It came to my hips! For some reason though, our sandbagging didn't work even though we thought we'd plugged every crack and sealed every drain. My house sits qute a bit higher than the street, so I only got about a foot and a half of water in my house. The Wilsons got about 2 feet. The water in the river did come higher than in August, but since the city was more prepared, there was less dammage. So we've been enjoying a lot of cleaning lately!! Thankfully, the Lovitts from the India project have been here and helped us out!
But there has been lots of fun too. One Sabbath we drove up to where the Holbrooks live and hiked up to a beautiful lake! It was hot, but worth it. This past Sabbath, we went to the queen's guardens. They were beautiful!! They had many greenhouses with beautiflul plants! Now I'm not to much of a plant lover, but I still really enjoyed it there. And for anyone who likes plants it would be heaven on earth!! This weekend, we are headed up to one of the little villages in the mountains. Should be lots of fun as well!
Take care and God bless - Mishala
