At long last, I've added an online photo album to the Student Missionaries Connected site. You can view the album at http://sms.fiforms.org/photos/ or just follow the link on the home page. I've already posted a few photos from training and some that Sha sent out. All student missionaries--if you have photo's you'd like to share--please go to the site and register for an account. After you register, I will go in and give you permissions to create albums and upload photos online. (I'm sorry I can't just copy your accounts over--I'm using different software and I don't think the software will talk to each other...) For those of you who have slow or expensive internet connections (as I know many/most SM's do in the field), if you'd rather, just e-mail the photos to me and I'll post them online for you. Thanks to Jeremy for the suggestion on this one.

Hi everyone! As nothing outstanding has happend lately, I thought I'd give you and accounting of my motercycle adventures! I started learning to drive the motercycle (which I have nick named Elsy) a couple days after I got to Thailand. The first lesson was kinda exciting. PiDuang had just given me instructions on how to drive it. Then jokingly cautioned me: "don't run into that car over there!" Well, as I got on and gave it what I thought was a little gas, Elsy went racing across the street headed for that very car! I frinally remembered where the brake was and stopped about 4 inches from the neighbors nice new toyota. So needless to say, Elsy and I didn't get off to the greatest start

Abu'! Where to begin.
Well, it all started shortly after Sabbath School saturday morning. Wendy
was in the clinic finishing up with her regular patients, when here comes a
man who hasn't been to the clinic in the recent past.

Somewhere near 10:15 am a friend of ours came to the clinic in a hurry. He
had his littlest boy with him and Wendy saw immediately that he wasn't
breathing. She attemted CPR on him while we prayed. The little boy was the
son of Silu's (one of the teachers) sister. Affter probably 5 or 10 long
minutes it was apparent that the little boy wasn't going to make it. Wendy
began to cry and the father knew htat there was nothing more she could do.
When she blew into his mouth all you ould hear was the rackle of muccus.
The diagnosis, a respitory infection. That's all.

We had a family come to the clinic today and tell us that their son who is
prone to seizers had one last night and fell into the fire. It's been one
year ago and the same thing happened to the same guy. Since they live so
far away the family did not want to carry the boy to the clinic even though
they admitted t hat his clothes were stuck to him from the burns and it was
even worse than the year before.

Well, the plans changed a little but Jeremy is now in the Philippines. AFM requested that he fly out of the St. Louis airport rather than Chicago since tickets would cost about $500 more out of Chicago. So on Sunday, he and I drove to St. Louis, visited with his sister Jenny and her husband for awhile (they live in St. Louis), stayed overnight and enjoyed a few hours at the St. Louis zoo on Monday before going to the airport. He flew out of there at about 5:50 p.m. to San Francisco, then on to Taipei, Taiwan, then to Manila, Philappines where he would meet up with the project leaders and continue on to the island of Palawan, across the island, and then up the mountain to the project.

Hello to all over the world from sunny, hot Thailand!! Yeah, I know it's been a while since I've let you know what's going on in my life! I for one detest group e-mails, but alas, what choice do I have with so not to much internet time?? sorry! Last week, the Wilsons decided that they were going to go visit the province of Nan where they used to live. They were going to stop at several villeges and encourage the adventist believers there. The orrigional plan was to leave at 8am. But the day before, the truck started to act up so it was in the shop and wouldn't be done till 1 pm. So the kids and I had a "fun" day of school. ( Asside from the normal spelling test and occasional flash cards, we try to have a fun day on fridays.) We wanted to go swimming like we did a couple weeks ago, but with the whole situation being kinda unpredictiable, we couldn't. (yes, they have REAL swimming pools in Thailand, and you can actually swim in a swimsuit instead of skirts like you poor SM's in Palawan! ) So we did sand art, drawing, learned some new songs, and had an extra long PE class.

Well everyone, it's 1:24 am as I write this (the date on Daniel's website hasn't been updated to standard time *pokes Daniels in the ribs*). I've just finished getting my bags packed. I'm traveling fairly light (at least at this point). I've got one check-in bag that weighs 55 lbs. and for carry-on, my camo backpack which you all saw at training. I'm not sure how much weight is in there, but it can't be too much since it's got mostly just clothes in it, and not many of them. Mostly it's just got the stuff that I would be most likely to need between here and Kemantian, though it's probably unlikely that I will actually NEED most of it. It's there mostly because I couldn't fit it all in the other bag, and everything else was least likely to be needed. Also there's as little mettal in my carry-on as possible. The only things in there that I know of are the digital voice recorder with it's guts and batteries, my guitar tuner, my new harmonica, and a couple metal springs on my trail water filter. I don't think the spring on the water filter will cause any issues, and the other stuf is in a side pouch that I can get too easily if there are issues with those. I've also got one big box that Kent George sent to me to bring along since I've only got one check-in of my own. Since it could still hold a little bit more weight, I opened it up and put in a few bottles of spices to bring along, and two ziploc bags of TVP.
